Kigali: Dr. Alfred Paul Jahn Asked Rwesero Residents to Bury Him Close to Them When He Dies
Dr. Alfred Paul Jahn made this request today, May 17, 2024, during a visit accompanied by the extended family of the Alfred Foundation, represented by Fidele Uwimana.

As usual, he brought food and sanitation supplies, but today’s visit was special because he also brought sports shoes for the school children.

Fidele Uwimana, the leader of Dr. Alfred Paul Jahn’s team, conveyed his message to the residents of Rwesero: “I love you very much, and I wish to be buried near you when I die. I have already informed the authorities about this.”

He continued, explaining that Dr. Jahn does not want flowers at his funeral: “For everyone who will come to my funeral, please do not waste money on flowers. Instead, use that money to buy food for the community.”

Some residents spoke to HANGA NEWS, expressing their acceptance of Dr. Paul Jahn’s request: “We do not wish to lose him. May God protect him and grant him a long life. But if it is God’s will that he dies, we are ready to bury him close to us as he has requested, as a parent who has always been there for us in our times of need.”

Local government officials thanked Dr. Paul Jahn for his charitable activities: “We value Dr. Paul Jahn’s contributions. He has requested houses for residents affected by disasters, provided clothing and shoes for children, and consistently visited with food supplies. We are grateful for his support.”

Rwesero, in the Kigali sector, is home to various residents relocated from high-risk areas across Nyarugenge District.
